System Engineering and technical assistance (SETA) support

Springfield, VA

Compensation - $120,000 Annually

Overall Assignment Description:

This SETA position n requires insight and experience in a variety of systems engineering, collection system design, upgrade planning, design and implementation, operational readiness preparation, and operations support tasks. This individual will assist the government customer with end-to-end planning, implementation, deployment, operation and enhancement of complex systems. This will include requirements definition, performance analysis, document preparation and review, and status tracking. This person will also assist in the coordination of deployment and system activation activities, including integration support, and facilitate survey and sustained operations.

Duties include:

Experience writing requirements document, test plans, standard operating procedures and other common engineering documents

- Develop statements of work, requests for proposal, justification and approvals for
other than full and open competition, broad area announcements, award fee plans, and industry day briefings.
Evaluate and provide recommendations and feedback to the COTR on developer contractors’ deliverables including: systems test plans, design review packages, CDRLs, test procedures and results, monthly status reports, earned value reports, contract funds status reports and schedules.

 

 

 

 

 

Draft or provide input to COTR on acquisition plans, program planning, directorate planning and performance reviews, program management reviews, and quarterly performance reviews.

 

 

 

 

 Evaluate contractor/developer performance. Identify and assess program risks and make recommendations to COTR.
Provide technical evaluations of contractor proposals through evaluation of contractor
basis of estimates and technical approach, identifying omissions, recommending reductions, or identifying scope issues.
 Provide recommendations for tailoring high-reliability specification to enable low-risk, responsive space system development programs.

 

 

 

Skills and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Information Technology; or equivalent work experience in Information Technology.

· Demonstrated specialized experience performing strategic planning and working with customers to define, plan, prioritize and optimize requirements.

· Demonstrated specialized experience with engineering, integration or operations of infrastructure services for IC or DoD mission systems.

· Demonstrated specialized experience with the acquisition or operations of IT infrastructure services.

Minimum of 5 years recent or current experience in system or software development, operations support, or other direct support to the intelligence community (IC)

DevOps Engineer

Overall Assignment Description:

A DevOps Engineer must balance several roles in the development process, including computer coding, testing and deployment. They must also possess the communication and management skills needed to oversee and manage multiple teams continually working on updating sections of code, testing the updated sections and deploying them.

Duties include:

Guide teams in designing, building, testing and deploying changes to existing software

Enhance the company's IT infrastructure security protocols

Identify manual processes that can be automated

Consider the organization's entire IT infrastructure when making changes and improvement

Maintain and improve the company's cloud infrastructure

Skills and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Information Technology; or equivalent work experience in Information Technology.

· Demonstrated specialized experience performing strategic planning and working with customers to define, plan, prioritize and optimize requirements.

· Demonstrated specialized experience with engineering, integration or operations of infrastructure services for IC or DoD mission systems.

Security: While continually updating code to make the system run faster and better, the DevOps Engineer also must make sure that the changes to improve the system don't accidentally make the system more vulnerable to attack.

Flexibility: The DevOps Engineer will update sections of software, as well as simultaneously managing changes to other parts of the program.

Collaboration: A DevOps Engineer will assist team members as needed.

Scripting Skills: DevOps Engineers must know how to use scripting programs such as Ruby, PHP, Pearl and Python.

Soft Skills: A DevOps Engineer should possess interpersonal, management and decision-making skills

 

GEOSPATIAL/GEOINT Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Overall Assignment Description:

A multi-talented Geospatial/Imagery Intelligence Analyst to act as a Subject Matter expert (SME) as a part of the GOEINT Team for a GEOINT contract  

Duties include:

Provide analytical/operational insight and experience as a resident SME f.
This support will include, but is not limited to supporting User Engagement events, software enhancement discussions, and testing events.
Work with Industry Partners and Systems Engineers to provide advice on the implementation of requirements to enhance capabilities .
Review Test Cases and create Workflows/TTPs, as well as document user stories.
Assist with the traceability of requirements to workflows and the identification of gaps 
Provide technical field support, over the shoulder training, integration, and testing

Skills and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Information Technology; or equivalent work experience in Information Technology.

Overall Assignment Description:

UpSlope Advisors, Inc is seeking a full-time employee to provide Tier I Help Desk and remote system support for USTRANCOMM’s Military Surface Deployment & Distribution Command (SDDC) Headquarters Office Information Systems (OIS).

Duties include:

  • Create, track, monitor, and route all customer support incidents and service requests to the applicable work center (Tier II) for continued diagnosis and resolution.

  • Close all resolved incidents ensuring proper resolution has been documented by the applicable work center.

  • Take initial telephone or email inquiries, troubleshoot, and manage relatively basic hardware, software or network problems

  • Attempt to resolve issues during first contact

  • Provide remote desktop administration.

  • Provide preliminary investigation of issues/requests, identify customer needs, and correctly diagnose the underlying issue or determine what is being requested

  • Capture and Log all incidents and corresponding call/email activity

  • Possess current working knowledge of all aspects of OIS

  • Provide answers to Frequently Asked Questions or solutions to common problems as part of a customer self-help capability

  • Perform password resets, software installation, printer troubleshooting, computer equipment replacement, configuration and troubleshooting of VPN accounts, and escalation of ticket(s) to the appropriate IT staff member as necessary

  • Perform other responsibilities as required

  • Provide polite and friendly customer service

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Associates degree in a technological field or equivalent work experience required

  • 1-2 years of experience in Helpdesk and Tech Support environment

  • Experience with common Operating Systems/Software/Applications Supported (e.g. Windows, MAC, Adobe, Oracle) and Protocols (e.g. VPN, Information security concepts, SSH, TCP/IP) 8/10, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Office 2013/2016

  • Understanding of networking fundamentals

  • Must be enthusiastic, a fast learner, and pay strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic environment

  • Excellent collaborative, communication, and customer engagement skills

  • Proven organization, problem solving, and analytical experience
